I’d love to hear how some of your do toy storage. Dh was saying that he’d like a way to keep everything displayed in some fashion so that he knows what is there. Currently we have things stuffed in bags on hooks in the back of a closet – and he doesn’t always dig through to see everything we’ve got. He was thinking a peg board with all play things set out, but of course we couldn’t hang it up in our room (children, family, friends, etc.).

My first thought when it comes to peg board is *gag*. (And not that kind of gag!) If it’s going to be out it needs look nice. Immediately I thought of the possibility of using a large jewelry armoire like this one:

    Jewelry Armoire

Not my personal style, but this kind of armoire has lots of drawers for storage and the necklace cabinets could easily be used to hand crops, whips, floggers, leash, chains, etc.

Have any of you used something like this by any chance? And does it actually work well for this?

How do you store your toys and accessories?

Sir has 2 large plastic containers that are on wheels, they have split covers that open up on both ends. These slide under our bed so Sir can take out what he needs. Inside one is a 12 pocket tray that Sir has nipple clamps in 3 of them, weights, clit clamps. Plus Sir has all our plugs, vibs separated on the other side. In the other container Sir has 3 sets of leather cuffs and play collar, 2 spreader bars plus 3 floggers, lollipop, 2 crops, cane, domestic strap, rope and other stuff. Theses are laid out on top of a heavy bath towel. Sir likes this because he just pulls them out during play and every thing is right at hand plus are large enough for a 36″ flogger to lay straight out. It’s great because they roll under the bed where no one will notice or look plus easy to keep clean and the covers have a clip lock to keep them closed tight. Cost was 12.00 each. Got them at Kmart You could also get a drawer system on rollers for the closet.

LT, thank you for your reply. That sounds a whole lot cheaper and honestly it’s probably a much more effective form of storage. I’ll pass that on. 🙂

We used an armoire. My Sir attached peg board on the inside of each door and kept containers within the main compartment for storing items that couldn’t be hung. Only drawback was the inability to lock it, since we have littles running amuck. 🙂 We’re now looking at buying a couple of cool old trunks with locks.

We are currently using a wooden gun cleaning box. We bought it at academy sports and outdoors. It has a clasp for locking and we just bought a small lock for it as well. I like the idea of the armorire. Not for toys but for all the accessories that I have. We are planning to build a bed frame with storage drawers underneath. May need to figure out how to lock them.
Or maybe I need two armorires, one for toys one for accessories.

we have a beautiful old chest that was passed down from my granny. it was a mess but I hand sanded waxed and cleaned the brass lock, and handles and it now functions as ‘the love chest’ and handy spanking bench. its a beaut! I loved doing it up, took 8 hours of sanding and waxing but it was so worth it when I told Sir why I had made it all pretty. 🙂

Currently we have things in closable wicker baskets. However, I have some ideas about creating hidden wall cabinets that go into the wall between the beams and would be covered by a hanging picture or mirror. Below are some websites with the general concept of the idea however I wanted it lined with velvet or something.

We had to finally get something bigger than the cheesy cloth bag we were using. lol
We upgraded to a small, rolling suitcase. The size that fits in the overhead bins on an airplane. It has a few different pockets and spaces so it’s good for now. I’d like something with even more organization in the future because I love some good organization. 😀

We have a blanket chest in the bedroom that always just collected junk; now it has our toys. I like the idea of getting smaller containers for inside to help section off and keep the toys more organized; they tend to get rummaged through and all mixed up.

Lucky for us our kids are older and very unlikely to go digging through our stuff (and if they DID do so it wouldn’t be the end of the world, they are definitely old enough to get it.)

I do wish we still had the matching Armoire that we sold when we moved to Texas though…. MG that sounds like a great use for one of those things! 🙂

We have some fun chests we use. Is your sir handy? You could do a peg board on the wall and build a box or frame around it so that you could put a picture over it during day and take it off when it’s play time. Somethingvthats built into the wall? That’s a lot of work, but some men like that sort of thing lol

As our collection continues to expand we are also looking into to some creative storage solutions. I believe we will be looking into having someone build us some built-in cabinets and locking drawers in our bedroom. However, I did come across some really nice storage options on Etsy. Check out the store, ToyBoxxxStudio. This is a really nice option. I bet there are some talented husDom’s that could build something similar!
