Good day my subbies! I have a question about music. My Sir and I are very fresh and new. What do new and seasoned subs and Doms think of music during scenes or play? I don’t mean anything poppy, high pitched or fast. I mean relaxing mood enhancing music at a low level. Is it distracting or does it help mask sounds and help drown out the world? Let me know what your Sirs think as well.

    Hi Subnursive:

Everyone will have their own particulars, but I think I can say that most couples do generally have music accompany their playtime and/or scenes. It does vary though.

One reminder to enhance playtime and/or scenes is to involve the five senses. Music or the lack of would obviously play into the experience for both of you.

Choosing slow and sensuous, fast and upbeat, or harsh and rough… It would be whatever is appropriate for the time. Turning up the volume to drown out the world & be enveloped in the music, or just keeping the volume low enough to be a “watermark” for the encounter. It’s really up to you.

I will share that, for the most part, Yankee and I do enjoy classical – different pieces affect our play, our mood. I haven’t gathered enough music, yet, for another playlist. I’m still searching for certain pieces to fit our tastes.

    I hope this helps!

Thank you Gracie. I am going to make a Playlist. I have a particular band I love, it’s very dark and low pitch. If you are open to varying genres of music,Type O Negative is a fantastic choice. In particular the Bloody Kisses album is awesome. I always thought silence was better, but I am opening my mind.
