• Formal Acceptance?

    Posted by pixierose on at

So I’ve heard a lot of talk in the chats about FA so I took it upon myself to read LK’s blog on it but I’m still confused. Before my husband and I joined this site we did our research and decided that this is something we want to do. Not long after we decided that this is something that we want part of our lives permanently. I read the blog but I didn’t get the info I was looking for really. Like I said my husband and I already decided that we want this to be permanent in our lives. We didn’t have anything official. Just our discussion about it. What I want to know is what is the reason behind having an FA? Who is the one to plan something like this? I’m just curious. People make a big deal about a sub having her FA and I just want to know why. Is there a deeper meaning behind it?

There is a whole section on Formal Acceptance if you want to check out some other subbies experiences. It’s a big deal because not everyone comes into D/s mutually. Sometimes there will be an interest in the lifestyle from one side and then it is slowly introduced to the other person….later, you would want to see if they will accept being your partner in D/s rather than just “trying it out”. For some people it’s a renewal of their commitment to each other in this lifestyle. For others it’s a super intimate way to affirm that this is what both people want and it’s very meaningful. I would definitely read the FA experiences here on the forum. You will see how beautiful and awesome it is. Even if you mutually want D/s you could still have a FA. It’s like marriage….you get engaged and you both know you want to be together forever but the ceremony really seals the deal. I hope that makes sense ?
