Does your Sir/Dom/Master like you bare, with a landing strip or just trimmed up? My Sir prefers me to be bare. (I actually recently outright asked him what he likes best, a completely bare or the landing strip and he said he likes bare best 😉 )
I had been shaving for while but in October I decided to try waxing after I saw a groupon. The groupon was for Brazilian sugar waxing. After some research I found that sugar waxing was supposed to be less painful (Yeah!!) It adheres only to the hair follicle but not the skin so you don’t get the redness that you do from regular waxing. The groupon was for $15 so I decided to try it. (my best friend thought I was crazy!!! lol) Well one site said I only needed to wait a few days after I last shaved, but the lady at the salon said I should have waited at least 14 days. So she couldn’t quite get it all. It hurt some, but wasn’t too bad. So I decided after 4 weeks to do it again. I found someplace closer to my house (the first place was 30 min away), although it was a little more expensive. ($35 for the place 30 min away, $45 for the new place only 10 min away) After 2 more visits it seemed my hair was growing back at different rates since I assume when I went the first time she couldn’t get it all at once. So I stopped, went back to shaving. Well I seemed to get a lot of razor bumps and on the back side when it would start to grow back would get so pokey! So I ended up decided to try the sugar wax again, this time waiting an appropriate amount of time, (21 days from last shave) Today I went and got nice and smoothe!!! I will not lie, it hurt like a mother!! But only for like 30sec while she was pulling off the sugar. I can tell you from waxing before, it really decreased the amt of hair I had on my front panel, but around my slit was pretty thick. She said my hair was very course which is why I was getting a lot of razor bumps but when grows back should get less and less. The most painful parts today was around my slit and right on my pelvic bone. The backside is barely painful at all, more like what you get when getting your eyebrows done. (I got my brows, upper lip, and Brazilian done today) The waxing lasts 3-4 weeks and the more you wax the less pain and the hair gets softer.

For me I think the bit of pain I endure during the waxing is definitely worth less/no razor bumps or infected hairs, not having to shave every day, no pokey hairs, I love having my ass waxed (lol) and it makes my Sir very happy!! 😉

Anyone else have any thoughts or experience to share?

I love waxing, too – as does my Sir! I do find it’s best if I can go evert 3-4 weeks if I can fit it in my schedule. However, my brazilian waxes are costing $50-60 each time. Are the prices you gave for sugaring? I’m not familiar with sugar vs. wax. Do you ask for a Brazlian sugar when you make your appointment?

When I first started waxing, I had a lot of trouble with ingrown hairs. I stopped going for about 3 months due to back surgery, and when I started back, there was a different girl in the salon. The type of wax she used was a little different. I Seem to get much fewer ingrown hairs and more hair removed around my slit. (With the first woman, I would have to come home and trim/ shave my slit area.)

I do love that freshly waxed feeling! I wish I could afford (and my skins could stand) to do it once a week!!

The prices are for sugaring. They are usually a little more than hard wax prices. Hard wax where I go is $37 and sugaring $45. I live NW of Atlanta, GA.

Also not all salons do sugaring, you have to ask at your salon. I did a search in my area to find ones that used it.

I don’t like waxing, but the result is nice. I was very hesitant when sir requested it. I had done it once before and could not explain the pain I felt. As per usual, he likes a challenge and did some research. I now do it every four weeks or so. I have a friend who is an esthetician and I go to her salon. I was nervous at first, but she said she has seen it all and not to be worried. Now that I have been going for a year, I have less hair growing in, it all grows in the same direction, it is starting to last longer. To ease the pain, I use a lidocain cream about 15 minutes before I go in. It helps a ton.

As for price, I pay around $60 for the wax.

They also sold me a roll on alcohol based stuff to help decrease risk of ingrown hairs on my first visit

Your prices are much lower than where I live in PA. If sugaring is more, I guess I’ll be sticking to waxing. I’m interested in the lidocaine cream too… is it just from the drug store? I use an acne wipe a day or two after the waxing, and it helps keep red bumps and ingrowns at bay, although the timing/effect may be different is sugaring doesn’t take off skin cells. I also use a facial soap on my lady parts every few days… seems to help with ingrowns, too.

You can get the lidocaine from amazon. There are tons to choose from. I like the ones that are 5%. 4% also works, but I like to go all out on the numb. I got my last tube from my waxer. It’s only 4% but does a decent job. It has aloe in it too.

Curvy, I read recently that alcohol actually make it worse because your pores tighten up, but maybe afterward?

My Sir like me completely bare and smooth. I’ve been shaving twice a week (any more and I get razor burn and not a smooth shave). We are trying to choose between waxing and laser. There isn’t a big price difference between the two. Waxing is less expensive but laser is supposed to be permanent after so many treatments. I would love to never have to shave again and be smooth all the time for Sir. Decisions, decisions.

Natasha – thanks for the tip about lidocaine cream, it will be a must if I wax.

YAY, I had my first laser hair removal treatment this week! Some of it hurt but most of it was pretty minor. I’m excited to be doing this for him and me.

Oh that’s awesome! Was it expensive and how many treatments do you have or do you need?

I did half body (from the waist down) under an 18 month contract and it costs about 10% more per visit than waxing would be. They recommend coming in every 6-8 week which is about 10-12 treatments. It only works on dark hair so we’re going to have to tweeze my gray. I’m usually pretty prickly 2 days after shaving, but since the laser treatment and the hair finally falling out (took about a week) I’ve gone about a week between shaving and I’m not nearly as prickly. I’m actually excited to have my next treatment.

We both like waxed better then shaved. Due to costs I did some research about at home process. After about 2 times it is fairly easy. There was a online video I watched that was really helpful.

I pour a glass of wine while the Wax finishes heating (30 minutes or so) and then pour another – or two depending on my pain tolerance that day. I have it down to about an hour to an hour and a half.

I use the GiGi hard wax and a 14 oz container can get 2.5-3 waxings worth for about 16 bucks. This lasts me almost 3 months.

The best time to wax is just after a cycle when your pain threshold is the highest.

The more times you wax then less “stubborn” your hairs become and it gets easier.

Now, after waxing for a couple years, it has become something I look forward to and sometimes even enjoy. Maybe its the wine + a little pain + I know my Sir will LOVE the “inspection” time that follows after the clean up shower!! We have turned it into a little naughty foreplay. We text, as I wax, sex related things, send arousing pictures, thoughts or sometimes even videos. By the time I am through …. I can be a hot mess aching for him to come up the stairs to see my handiwork.

That sounds like a fun routine, but I’m not sure I’d be able do it myself… Lol.

I did laser removal, Ideal Image. I have only 3 treatments left to go, I believe 10 in all. The results are amazing. Smooth, no shaving, all gone front and back. No redness, no bumps. It does sting but I use my yoga breaths and it is very very quick, 15-20 minutes in and out, done. My Sir loves it!

I agree mamaduke, I was amazed at how fast it went. Under arms and from the waist down took less than half an hour. I only needed her to pause once. I’ve only had one treatment and we were able to see a difference. Both Sir and I are very excited.

Anyone get a home laser hair removal device? I’m thinking of either asking for home device or a laser hair removal package. Since it’s permanent I would save money ver waxing and hate the regrowth after about 2 weeks even though it’s less than what I got with shaving.

I have a home laser kit, but I haven’t used it enough to comment. What I *can* tell you is that the rounds of laser treatment that I had on my kitty region a few years back decreased and thinned the hair growth significantly. I still have to shave, because my Sir and I also prefer it silly smooth, but I never get razor burn or ingrown hairs.
I also use one of those vibrating men’s razors. I used to be terrified of them, but my Sir swore by them, using them on his head and face, and he promised me he’d never have me use something that would hurt his favorite toy!
