• Meditation, Kneeling, Downtime Space

Early next year my Sir and I will be redecorating our bedroom. I really want this to be a tranquil spot for us to retreat to. We will be moving out a desk which will give us a nice size of space to use. New carpet will be installed. I want this to be multi-functional. This will be an area that I can use to meditate and complete my submissive kneeling exercises. It will also be used by my Sir as our Downtime space. So a special chair will be necessary for him! The walls have a leather wash on them so I am thinking of lightening up the bedding and curtains. Or should I go dark with red, navy, and gold?

I need your help! What do you have in your personal space that you absolutely love? What do you wish you had?

    Thank you all in advance!

Hi Marie. I like the colours you have picked they sound woulderful. Great minds think alike. We are starting on re doing our room and just finished painting. Our room is a soft purple-silver colour with white trim. Bright but restful. We are still working out how to rearranged the furniture to free up a corner for a play/meditation corner. We have a very small room so Sir has started some storage projects. The hope is to have one corner that I can use for kneeling and meditation but transforms to play area and add a bench for downtime in our room. Currently I have one shelf with my books, crystals and candle on it with my fuzzy blanket folded beside. I like having my own space but it is a put away take it out situation. I would love just a little bit bigger area that feels more permanent for kneeling.

      Marie,
we have red in our room and I can tell you it is not tranquil at all. IT was in here when we moved into the house. We are looking at colors in blues and greens. These colors are proven tranquil. Look at the spa places you go, they all use these colors for that reason. We will also use some earth tones as accent colors. Hopes this helps, good luck and have fun re-decorating!!

We painted our bedroom red years ago… it was NOT tranquil. It was beautiful, but I had a hard time sleeping in there. We decided we would never have a red bedroom again. I agree with Charmed, go with lighter colors. Maybe use the red, navy and gold as accents?? Love that color combo! Maybe in throw pillows and throw blankets?

We just redecorated our room a few month ago. I did a white comforter (in hind sight, its hard to keep pristine). We did a mix of grey, muted pinks and blues and rustic finishes. A relaxing bedroom to retreat too is the best investment we ever made.

Good luck!! HAVE FUN WITH IT!

We have a black bedroom and we love it! It’s going to be hard to get me to change. I have a love of white ivory and gray to offset the darkness and plants for some added color. I think it all just depends on you. I will agree with the rest and say I have never found red walls appealing. Navy could be beautiful or gold. I love re decorating.

    Have fun
