    Little Kaninchen,

“Hello, I am looking to purchase a nice thuddy flogger. Something reasonably priced.

Can you point me in the right direction?”

    Thanks,

There are several things to consider when purchasing a flogger for the first time.

Sensation – Do you desire a thud or a sting? Consider the length, the width and the number of falls and the type and weight of the leather.
The experience of the operator should be taken into consideration as well. Most floggers are capable of providing a wide degree of sensation and the sensation given is predicated more on how the flogger is used rather than what type of flogger that you are using.

Length – The length of the falls can vary but the longer falls are more appropriate for the more experienced users. Many flogger manufacturers recommend the falls of the flogger be approximately the length of the users forearm for those that are new to using such a tool. A shorter flogger is easier to control and less likely to tangle.

Width – The wider the falls of the flogger the more thud.

Density – The more dense the falls the more thud.

    Conclusion:

If you are new to the sport and want to create a “thuddy” sensation for your partner with little effort, you should look for a flogger no longer than the length of your forearm that is made of a heavier weight leather, has wider falls and/or has more falls. If you are looking for more sting or bite, choose a lighter weight flogger with fewer or thinner falls.

    Further analysis:

The reality is that for the beginner the most important physical aspect of the flogger is most likely going to be the length of the falls. The shorter length will allow the newer Dominant better control and more consistency. This will help build his submissive’s confidence in him and his abilities as well as help build his own confidence.

The other key ingredient will be technique. I would advise any new Dominant to research how to safely and appropriately use a flogger before getting started.

Does anyone have any ideas where we can find a good quality leather flogger for a reasonable price?

    Regards,

    Mr Fox

    We bought one from http://www.flogmebaby.com/floggers.html
The “wood master thuddy” flogger. It’s a great flogger to start out with.
I have my eyes on that flogger with the roses. That one looks amazing!

I just ordered the purple one with the roses on the end … with Mr. TomCat’s approval. Also, I ordered the heart shaped riding crop as a Valentine’s Day present/surprise.

Now I need to find/order some Arnicane. 🙂

Visited the site that Lovelylady suggested http://www.flogmebaby.com/floggers and I saw one called a Dragon’s tongue. Anyone have any experience with these. It looks fluttery.

He was quite pleased with it. Might be something for some who are interested in it to check it out.
