• Crystals for mediation and kneeling

Do you use or have different crystals/rocks or objects for mediation or kneeling?

On our Anniversary trip we ended up in a rock shop and the crystals I picked up were beautiful. My Sir works in mining so we have rocks every where but I have never thought of them in the way they were presented. Each had a little tag to tell you what they were for. I picked up several and added them to my kneeling corner. Each one has a specific purpose for my thoughts during kneeling. It was in the kneeling post that I read ‘think about your submission during kneeling’ and honestly I didn’t know what that meant to me. If I thought about how I was doing I would become critical and sad, down on myself. These rocks/crystals help me focus on the good things I want to bring to our relationship and my life, focus my intentions. I have a tower of selenite for clarity and self awareness, Amethyst to dispel negativity, tourmaline for grounding, Orange Calcite for creativity/sexuality/playfulness, bloodstone for selflessness/good decision making, and my favorite Peacock Ore(Bornite) for the ability to see and accept the joy in any moment.

I have tried to attach a pic of my rocks and corner but alas I am tech impaired and can’t seem to figure it out. if you have some that you cherish I would love to see what you have and what they are for.

    Thanks Jsbunny

    • Oh I love crystals but haven’t yet used them. I’m inspired! In my yoga class the instructor sets them out all over the room so we are surrounded by them but I never found out which one does what.

I do wear one around my neck all the time that my homeopath calls an ‘isode’. It’s like a purplish quartz and she puts it into a tray and somehow it matches my DNA or something, I really don’t understand how it works but it works and I never take it off and have it charged every 3 months.

We are off for a trip next week and maybe I can convince my Sir to stop at a rock shop. My list is Tourmaline, Selenite, Amethyst, orange Calcite and Peacock Ore(Burnite). Is that a good place to begin??

I love your crystal book Nymphkitten.

Consider adding some Rose Quartz to your list elskling. It’s really a stone that exudes compassion, peace, and unconditional love. I like to use it paired with amethyst quite a bit. I find it to be a cheerful and “chatty” stone, meaning that it plays well with others in your space. The one word of caution I have when meditating with rose quartz is that sometimes it tells you what you want to hear instead of what you need to hear. That can be good if you are looking for a confidence booster, but if you are doing some deep soul searching sometimes it leads you astray.

Elskling I’m going to look up isode and see if its something I can get at a rock shop. If you do get to a shop you will be amazed all the different types and things they do. It was super hard for me to pick just a couple, there were so many. The bornite is still my favorite, it’s a life goal for me to find happiness in every moment. I have gotten another small amethyst that I put in my purse, there is alot of negativity out there and anything that can keep that at arms length I am totally for. I just don’t want to add to much, my purse is already heavy without a bunch of rocks in it. Lol

    • Bornite – I’ll look for it! When we did LK’s summer solstice ritual (which was amazing!) I set up the little altar as described. It was beautiful and I would love to have a little crystal garden similar to that. Hoping on our trip we’ll be able to stop someplace that sells them and my Sir will actually stop! (wish me luck with that). Thanks for the suggestions. I’m really enjoying this discussion. Love the spiritual side of things.

Lovely! I’m totally a crystal geek. You’ve got a very pretty selenite tower there. Selenite is a favorite of mine because it was named for the Greek Goddess who was the physical embodiment of the moon. It is a fabulous crystal for cleansing space, I often pair mine with black tourmaline and clear quartz to create a sort of energy “air purifier.” I’ve been working on a little journal for myself, I did little water color paintings of some of my most used crystals and then jotted down some basic informations about them. The picture I attached is my page for the black tourmaline page just to give an idea of what my little book looks like.

Love the way you have a book put together for information on you crystals. And may I say you have the most lovely handwriting. Thank you for sharing and your tourmaline looks amazing. I have just a little polished one but now I want to look for the long pieces that you have.

Thank you so much! I used to do calligraphy, but chronic pain keeps me from practicing these days. My husDom bought me that tourmaline. I have a habit of giving black tourmaline away to people in need. Its power to transmute negative energy into positive makes it a great catch all for any situation. Sir got tired of me always having to replace my stock of tumbles and recently ordered me a raw bulk bag from a store online called Rock Paradise.
