    On LK’s request. ^_^

A lot of us bunnies are either trying to get tone or have a routine to maintain our figures, and while half of that equation is nutrition, the other half is exercise! 🙂

So, what do you bunnies do to tone up? 🙂

    ———————————————————————-

For me, I have a weak heart so I can’t do high intensity exercises without having a long rest afterwards. So, the main point of my exercises is to tone my thighs and abdomen, with some small portion of my exercises aimed at also strengthening my chest while trying to avoid bulking up. Once I gain more stamina, I’ll expand my routine but it’s a slow process for me since I’ve only restarted exercise recently. [I was pretty good in high school… then college happened… now have to retrain the muscles to act like, well, muscles. 😛 ]

I swim three times a week: 5 laps breaststroke, and 5 laps backstroke. This is because I’m trying to strengthen my chest, thigh, and core muscles. I’m also trying to avoid “swimmer’s shoulders” so I modify the arm movements [like for backstroke, I keep my arms back the whole time]

My daily routine consists the stomach vacuum [10 repetitions of 20 seconds with a 5 second break], squats [30 reps], “push up pride” [20 reps], the “invisible chair” [30 seconds], the “superman” [5 repetitions of 20 seconds with a 5 second break], the “hammock stretch“, lunges [15 reps per leg], and the leg drops [30] (I go this with bent knees [should also work on my hamstrings sometime], and an uneven surface, so that my feet end up lower than my body when I drop them. I find this to be a more comfortable alternative to the stomach crunch but still gives me the same “burn”). I repeat that cycle 3 times, and the routine is repeated 3 times day… or at least that’s the goal. A lot of the time it’s only twice a day [morning and night before dinner]. I increase my goal repetitions by 5 each time the previous numbers gets easier [cap has not yet been determined].

[And despite all those links being from mainly Doctor Oz, it’s only because I couldn’t find the original version of the ones on my computer. 😛 I actually found the Women’s Health magazine website as very useful in helping plan things, but different strokes for different folks.]

And finally, as an irregular piece of exercise, if I need to walk to the shops I take larger steps rather than my usual short steps. It seems to help my thighs.

I ride a stationary bike for 15 minutes, and then work out for another 15 to 30 minutes. I’ve torn all the workout pages from my old Cosmo magazines, lol. I also got an app called Daily Workouts (Amazon app store, free) that I really like.

When we’re out and about, we park as far away from the entrance to the store as we can, without it being stupidly far.

I’m really not allowed to do much more than that for now, waiting for the doc to say that my body has caught up to my mind!

I’ve always been pretty active. I danced ballet from childhood through college. Now my Husband and I do cross fit. The workouts are short but super intense and I like that the workout is different everyday. It isalso great stress relief!!
I try to go two or three times a week. The cardio isgreat and I feel so good (almost as good as I feel after sexy time 😉 )..
I also spend a lot of time chasing after my 3 year old!
Anyways I like to see what other people do too. Swimming sounds like a greatwoworkout!

My Husband is in charge of everything, but there’s one thing he has tasked me with…..to eat healthy and continue a workout regimen for our family. I communicate about the subject constantly, so it keeps everyone in check.

Being in shape isn’t a choice for me, its as important as breathing. My husband and I were in sports when we met and I remember that being a deciding factor for a boyfriend. We still workout together and basically do what our bodies tell us to do. Right now, I follow a weight training program that changes often and advances significantly every 4 weeks. I focus mainly on lower body and building muscle that will take me into my later years as an active 90+ year old. I may be bulky at 44, which I’m not always comfortable with visually, but I’ll be a freaking hot 70 year old when natural muscle loss happens with age. I’m building and maintaining enough to last me all my life. I also walk A LOT, because I have two very active dogs.

Stay healthy and build that muscle.

So last year, out of the blue I took up running. Not for any particular reason other than maybe it was quite and I got a break from the house and kids. I ran my first 5K in May and decided I want to go further and started training for a half marathon. By the end of the year I had run 3 5K’s, 1 10K an half and a full marathon and totaled over 800 miles for the year. Now this may seem like a LOT of running but I started using the Galloway method of running which is a run/walk combo in intervals, the better you get the longer your run intervals but I started with one min walk one min run. I have asthma and had read this was the best for people with my condition also good for people who had not run much prior.

I have to say I like the results running gives me, without trying I lost almost 15 lbs and now eat more then my Dom, which must be some kind of turn on for him because he tells everyone I eat more then him or maybe it is him coming to my defense when my family tells me I am now TOO skinny. Either way he loves it and now I actually love it too(after I am done anyway, lol)

      Schatzi,
I had an app similar to that running method on my phone. Couch to 5k or something. I started it but could just never get into running. 800+ miles is amazing girl! Keep it up!

SSB, trust me I never imagined I’d Run 800 miles in a year either. couch to 5K is a great program to get started several of my vanilla friends are currently using it to get ready for some 5K’s this summer. it is exciting to have inspired some others to get up and start moving.

I finished week 4 challenge where I take 10000 steps a day. So far so good and I actually love this challenge, so I’m keeping this app called “S Health” on my Note 3 and continuing my 10000 daily steps.

This is for general daily walking information. I still do my daily workouts.
    Stay healthy,

How do you manage the 10000 steps? I’m trying to get do that but I only end up at around 5000.

If I sat all day I’d probably only get 5000, but since I’m walking all day, I get 5000 in before the end of the day and another 5000 walking my dogs…etc.

I run for 30 minutes daily, do 50-120 squats daily, and I do 180 seconds of various plankings daily. I change things up by lifting weights some days or going for a bike ride when the weather allows. I’ve lost weight and would like to lose more, but Husband prefers me curvy-ish and will only allow me to lose 10-20 more. We’re considering buying an elliptical machine.

Beloved, I used to work out on an elliptical. Haven’t done it in a while but I did enjoy it. Better than a treadmill because it was so much easier on my knees. Good luck with getting one!

I usually work out 6 days a week, I’m an athlete I do cardio everyday with high impact intervals and weights. I am going crazy right now because I hurt myself at training on Thursday and am on crutches. Does anyone have a good workout that can be done while on crutches? thinking I’m going to be doing lots of abdominal exercises or I’ll just go crazy. LOL.

I go to the gym 3 times a week. Mondays I do yoga, Thursdays is my choice (usually eliptical followed by weights and stretches), and Saturdays is Willpower & Grace or Zumba depending on what time we get there.

We’ve been working so hard. Sir and I researched a plan that would work best for me and threw ourselves into my goals. I’ve lost a total of 30 lbs and feel amazing. He sacrificed so much and worked so hard to help me, but we did it. My program is too much to type out because we tweaked a lot of different menus and training to fit my needs. Anyway….wanted to share. Toodles. 🙂

MARTIAL ARTS. Our whole family belongs to a martial arts dojo, and it is a pretty intensive program. We have both lost weight and built a lot of muscle without really noticing because it’s so much fun.

Also, our particular dojo is fairly “hard-core” so we spar with each other, with contact. Currently, our sparring includes shots to the head, face, groin, legs, taking the opponent to the mat and groundfighting, chokes and more. We have learned to do these things safely with control, and it compliments our D/s really well. I understand my body better, I have a different understanding about pain, we have another physical way to connect with each other…I can’t say enough good things about it.

Mister has me doing some sort of exercise 6 days a week, with a rest day on either Saturday or Sunday, depending on what we have planned. I do either prenatal yoga or walking one day, and a full body workout from Nerd Fitness the next. I have PCOS, which doesn’t help me in the chub department, so it’s been extra important for me to keep up with exercising. I haven’t been very good about it lately, though, and I can see a talk from Mister in my near future.

Im not meeting my client till later so i have a minute to respond. Always wanted to try Martial arts and yall are doing great. Exercise is so important and thankfully it’s a passion we’ve had together since high school. I didn’t change that part very much except I added more cardio during my weight loss phase. Losing this weight has been the hardest compared to my younger days, but a knee injury left me 30 lbs heavier and i desperately needed to lose it. Nutrition is the key to weightloss. Weight train is the key for great tone. I followed a diet that consisted of lean proteins, cruciferous veggies for hormone regulation, low glycemic fruits and protein shakes. We had one cheat meal a week, but still, it was good choices. My indulgence is beer, but once a week. Sir made it fun for him by giving himself rewards for helping me stay on track and reaching goals. Anyway, keep up the great work, ladies!! I know your Sirs are loving their hot and healthy subs. Rarr. Ciao for now. 🙂

I need help motivating myself to exercise. I want to do this. For me and my Sir. The problem is in starting and keeping going. With exercise until I see changes I have difficulty staying motivated. I would like input on self motivating in this area. My Sir is not able to help in this area. This has been a very touchy area for us over the years.
    Please help.
