Pregnancy Concerns – Do I mention to my naturopath?
Good morning!
Good morning ladies. This will likely be long because I’m verbose
I’m sorry! I do have some questions at the end, though!I hope you make it all the way to there!
I got a positive pregnancy test on Monday. Our youngest is 4, and that in the last 2 years and 2 months I’ve had 5 miscarriages: One at 8.5 weeks (but Baby didn’t develop beyond 5.5 weeks); one very very early; one at 12ish weeks (but Baby didn’t develop beyond 8.5 weeks); one at 19 weeks (Baby died at 16 weeks); and another very, very early one. I only fell pregnant once in the past year and 3 months (with the very, very early miscarriage).
I am scared to get excited about this pregnancy but I think that is normal.
I saw a specialist after my 2nd trimester miscarriage and he thought I had a clotting disorder but all the tests came back negative. I went to a naturopath, who specializes in MTHFR and lives in another city, and was diagnosed with MTHFR. The simple explanation is that my body can’t process folic acid and that it is actually toxic to me. I’ve not been taking all my supplements (I need to take methylated folate and B12 and a whole lot of other stuff) and although I’m 95% gluten free (all flour products are enriched with folic acid) I did eat normal pasta just this weekend.
I have an email consult with my naturopath today.
FINALLY THE QUESTIONS:
– Do I mention our D/s relationship? MTHFR is linked to blood clotting issues, and miscarriages. Would our proclivity for pain play be something that needs to be mentioned?
– I’m assuming that it would be better not to do any rope play? It is something we both really enjoy occasionally (maybe once a week) and Sir is always careful to not cut off blood flow. We don’t engage in suspension play.
– Would pain play in general be an issue?
– We also love orgasm control and I’m wondering if this could be an issue to consider due to the fact that often after repeated miscarriages you are advised not to orgasm. Do I mention this to the naturopath and ask her?
– Anything else we should consider?
