• Thankful for D/s in the midst of life troubles

    Posted by sirsgift on at

I am so beyond thankful for D/s in our lives today because without it who knows if our marriage would have survived. I say that based on how we reacted to stress in the past. The last few weeks have been the most stressful time ever, we have been threatened with homelessness.
Back story in a few sentences. In January we bought our dream truck and almost immediately we started putting money into it. We have done everything we could truck still not running and without our truck we can’t move our home, the rv. Well the city decided it was a problem and said they will tow our rv if we don’t move it ASAP. Well everyone was acting like we have been doing nothing, nevermind we have been through five mechanics and still not a clue what’s wrong. The stress caused physical ailments in both of us. It sucked.
However we never fought. We never blamed each other. We remained in D/s mode throughout all of this stress. There were times I was in control over certain things and Sir controlled what he could. Even when everyone was trying to tear us down and pull us apart we remained together stronger than ever before. I know from the past this is not normal for us in stressful times but we were more aware of each other than ever before. I wholeheartedly believe it is solely because of the tools/rules that it takes to have a good D/s relationship. The things as vanilla we forget or overlook. I absolutely can not wait to see where we are in six months and a year and two years. I am ever so excited to see how close we can grow and truly believe we can tackle anything together now.
I also want to thank everyone who have helped with chats, forum posts, and just listening.

It all sounds stressful and hopefully things will be looking up soon. I think that D/s gives structure and I completely agree that it provides tools. I also think that it brings confidence. As long as we are strong in our own roles, we will be stronger together.

SG… glad to hear these things! I know we are in a similar time line for our DS, and can sat the same thing… the last week was super stressful with really bad stuff at work, and my father ended our relationship….I was so glad to come home and be submissive, be taken care of, be “his”…so gratefull that I never even considered getting angry or upset about little things I would have before. It is good!

I would have never guessed things could be this different this fast but when both are actively working it’s amazing. As for our troubles they will eventually be worked out one way or another. It’s just nice to have something stable in the midst of chaos.

We have officially begun the adventure. Although after last night play session it’s been a rough start this morning, lol. Oh what a good problem to have.
