Has this delightful book not been touched upon yet here?? Oh Ladies….Story of O is unique in the fact that it could possibly be an actual submissive journey, or could be a work of fiction, either way the translator Pauline Réage states that the work isn’t hers, she merely translated it. Set in 1920’s France Story of O follows O, a spunky, high spirited photographer and her incredibly erotic life with two Sir’s. I adored this book from start to finish, though admit that the ending is far too abrupt. I hope y’all take a peak!

I have read this book and it is a good story but I believe its a little hard core for the new submissive. I also believe that back in the 1920’s a submissive or a slave was treated harshly if I went by this book, there were a lot of things done to O that was just cruel and I would never agree too or would I want to be treated that way even what her Master did in the end. This is only my opinion.

I read this book a long time ago when the world of D/s was still unknown to me. I agree with LT that it is extreme but there was something about it that told me there were elements of it in me. I was turned on reading it but at the same time shocked by it.
