If you want a good read and more than just an erotic love story than read this series. There are 7 books in the series it’s twisted, dark, cruel, and very emotional. It’s a series that is hard to put down and not want to keep reading, I enjoyed it very much.

    Debt Inheritance
    Here is a excerpt:
“I own you. I have the piece of paper to prove it. It’s undeniable and unbreakable. You belong to me until you’ve paid off your debts.”

Nila Weaver’s family is indebted. Being the first born daughter, her life is forfeit to the first born son of the Hawks to pay for sins of ancestors past. The dark ages might have come and gone, but debts never leave. She has no choice in the matter.

    She is no longer free.

Jethro Hawk receives Nila as an inheritance present on his twenty-ninth birthday. Her life is his until she’s paid off a debt that’s centuries old. He can do what he likes with her—nothing is out of bounds—she has to obey.

There are no rules. Only payments.

Just finished the first book LT! On to book #2!

Make no mistake…this is erotica, dark erotica and NOT ROMANCE…

I liked it very much. There is enough darkness and roughness to keep me intrigued. I don’t do sappy love/romance (typical “mommy porn”) stories. I like the cruel plot and the fact that the main male character is handsome and rich, but not a very nice guy…in fact, he is a monster. It made my toes curl and my heart race, both from caring about her and also hearing his dark, depraved thoughts…
Definitely feeling that Pepper Winters is following the path of Rice’s Beauty books, story of O and even sprinkling a bit of Sade influence in these books I think!

    LT –

I started reading the other day… I’m ready for book 6, but no more $$ on my kindle. UGH! I am on pins & needles, no pun intended, well, maybe a little. 🙂

The story is so dark & full of tension, so evil. The cliffhangers are unbearable – almost it’s own torture.

V – these are so much more cruel and dark than Beauty, but just as addictive.

Unraveling the mystery that is Jethro Hawk is much like constructing a garment – putting the pattern pieces together with thread and needle, and seeing the garment come to life, making adjustments along the way, for a perfect fit.

Thank you for sharing, LT! I am truly enjoying this journey – can’t wait to see what’s next!

Oh yes, they are much darker than the Beauty books, I agree! I used that reference because I know that there are some that felt the Beauty books were hard to read, so I know they would not enjoy these at all. There is way more of a Marquis de Sade influence here and that type of story just isn’t for everyone. I like the darkness, the rawness, the unforgiving brutality of the writing…it just does something to me, lol 😉

        LT-

Since I’m stuck in bed right now, he got me another card… I’ve finished the series and have started rereading… to pick up on those clues.

Truly a worthwhile read – so dark & twisted, but oh, so yummy!
