January 10th, 2021
Look to the sky to see the first full Moon of the year, the Wolf Moon.
The Moon’s name came from the Native Americans, they did not fear the wolf but respected it. They gave the moon this title because wolves were most commonly heard this time of year. Researchers say that wolves do tend to howl more often during winter months. Wolfs howl to define territory, locate other pack members, and to call the pack gather for the nights hunt. This moon has also collected some other names such as, Old Moon and the Great Spirit Moon.
